Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Welcome to McCode-Wadsworth ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use mccodewadsworth.com and its Application Suite, how we use and share it, and the controls you have over it. We built this platform with a simple posture: collect only what the features need, let you see everything we store, and let you delete it yourself.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when using platform features:
- Account information — email address, password (stored only as a salted hash — we cannot read it), and your organization's name and sign-in code.
- Profile information — first and last name, date of birth, gender, role preferences, and an optional "about" description, if you fill them in on your profile.
- Photos — profile photos you upload, and photos submitted through the guest gallery along with the name you optionally attach to them.
- Store orders — the name, contact, and delivery details you provide when placing an order, used to fulfil it and keep you updated.
- Location — a precise location only if you use the live meeting map or attach a location to a service request. Map presence is opt-in, and displayed map positions are deliberately fuzzed (approximately ±100 m). Profiles are private by default; appearing in discovery or on the map requires a typed confirmation.
- Messages and connections — messages you send through the platform's chat and the connection records they create.
- Billing — subscription records. Payments are processed by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers and are handled entirely on Stripe's hosted checkout.
- Contact-form submissions — name, email, and message when you use the contact form (an account is not required).
- Application Suite records — content your organization creates in the apps (service requests, tracking tasks, memberships, site-build specifications), including submissions made through public request forms an organization shares — those accept an optional name and store what you submit.
- Technical data — IP address and basic request metadata, used for security (rate limiting, abuse prevention) and kept in short-lived operational logs.
We do not use advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or third-party marketing scripts anywhere on the site.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Creating and operating your account, organization, and workspace.
- Providing the features you use — profiles, discovery (only if you opt in to being public), chat, the live map, photo galleries, the store, and the Application Suite.
- Processing subscription billing through Stripe.
- Sending transactional email — verification codes, password resets, order and request notifications. We do not send marketing email.
- Protecting the platform — rate limiting, abuse prevention, and security auditing.
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our Terms of Use.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use only essential browser storage: a session token that keeps you signed in, and device-level preferences (such as theme or language choices) stored in your browser's local storage. That's the complete list — there are no advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies on this site, and no third party sets cookies through us.
Because we don't track you across sites, there is nothing for a browser "Do Not Track" signal to turn off; our behavior is the same with or without it.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers — Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, email delivery) and Stripe (payment processing), each under their own data-protection agreements.
- Other users, as you direct — your public profile, if you opt in to discovery; messages, with the person you send them to; content shared within your organization's workspace.
- Legal compliance — when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and platform.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.
6. Your Rights & Controls
The controls are built into your account page — no email required:
- Access & portability — "Download My Data" produces a complete JSON archive of everything linked to your account, on demand.
- Deletion — "Delete Account" permanently removes your account and cascades through every data store (profile, photos, messages, connections, map presence, app records, and contact-form submissions tied to your email). Partial failures are reported to you rather than hidden.
- Correction — profile fields are directly editable at any time.
- Visibility — your profile is private by default; you control whether it appears in discovery or on the map, and can revert at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have additional statutory rights — including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The self-serve tools above satisfy most requests instantly; for anything else, contact us (Section 11) and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes it under Section 6. Short-lived operational records (such as rate-limit counters) expire automatically, and residual copies in backups age out in the normal course of operations. We may retain limited records longer where the law requires it (for example, billing records).
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS everywhere), salted password hashing, signed session tokens, request rate limiting, and least-privilege access controls, and we verify ownership on every data operation. No security measure is perfect; if you suspect unauthorized access to your account, change your password and contact us immediately.
9. Age Requirement
Our platform is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account — enforced at signup — and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and material changes will be highlighted through the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Contact Us
